January 19, 2012So today we learn Santorum won Iowa and that four precincts lost their votes. What a joke - is this a banana republic now? We may not like Republicans all that much but they have as much right to a fair election as anyone. And having all votes counted? That should just be a plain American requirement. Will the flood of Super PACs and lost ballots change their attitudes about these issues? Probably not but they do show this stuff is not partisan. Anyone can lose their voting privileges and money is indeed the source of much evil in politics.

June 14, 2011Developments from the world of marriage equality today - a Federal judge in CA has upheld Judge Walker’s striking down of Prop 8 and New York State will hold a vote on legalizing same sex marriage on Thursday. As of now, 31 of 62 NY Senators have committed to voting yes. If passed, the law is certain to pass the Assembly and be signed into law. If that happens, it would be a huge victory. Sorry haters, we can now say gay marriage in the U.S. is inevitable.
